Fairmont State University will be showcasing opportunities for students, programs, and more at the inaugural Fairmont State Day at the Legislature at the West Virginia Capitol in Charleston on Tuesday, February 25, 2020.
Students, faculty, and staff will be in the Capitol to talk about everything Fairmont State has to offer. Student organizations will be representing what students can be a part of outside of the classroom as well as athletics.
“I’m excited to celebrate the inaugural Fairmont State University Day at the Legislature,” Fairmont State University President Mirta M. Martin said. “This is a chance to celebrate our commitment to West Virginia. During Fairmont State University Day, visitors can interact with members of the Falcon Family, learn about our one-of-a-kind academic programs, and get a taste of the kind of transformational impact that more and more students and their families find at Fairmont State.”
Dillon Bradley, legislative liaison for the University, said Fairmont State Day at the Legislature is an opportunity to highlight what sets Fairmont State apart from other institutions across the state.
“Fairmont State University has never had its own day at the legislature and the creation of this day is additional proof that Fairmont State is on a path of greatness,” he said. “We are thrilled to see the involvement of students and faculty on this day, as we travel to the state capitol to speak with lawmakers.”
University representatives will be outside of each chamber hallway near the rotunda. Attendees are invited to connect to the event via social media by using the hashtag #SoarFalcons and following @FaimontState on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.
