Upshur County Clerk Carol Smith would like to remind county voters of the important dates for the upcoming General Election:
- October 13 – Voter registration deadline
Register or update registration at GoVoteWV.com or upshurcounty.org or in person at County Clerk’s Office
- October 21-31 – Early Voting at Courthouse
During normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m.) and Saturday, October 24 & October 31 (9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
- October 28 – Deadline to apply for an absentee ballot
Applications received after October 28, even if postmarked, cannot be accepted by law
- November 2 – Deadline to Hand-Deliver Absentee Ballots To County Clerk
Voters may hand-deliver up to two absentee ballots
- November 3 – Election Day & Deadline for Absentee Ballots to be Postmarked
Polls open 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
