Imogene Sue Tenney

Imogene Sue Tenney, age 81, of Buckhannon, WV passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 21, 1942, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Harold and Ivy Linger Hoover.

She is survived by one son, Daniel Tenney of French Creek, WV; two daughters, Donna Salyer and partner Stan Westfall of Buckhannon and Brenda Mason and husband Jeffrey of Volga, WV; six grandchildren, Paul Salyer and fiancé Tina McKie of Buckhannon, Annie Mason of NJ, Beverly Bosley and husband John of French Creek, WV, Dustin Salyer and wife Brittany of Buckhannon, Brandon Pancake and girlfriend Amanda Sims of Weston, WV and Ashley Pancake of Buckhannon; seven great-grandchildren, Logan Bosley and fiancé Jennah Abdon of Buckhannon, Alex Salyer of Buckhannon, Tadem Cornelius and husband T.C. of Buckhannon, Raven Streets and husband Dylan of Buckhannon, Hunter Bosley of French Creek, Serenity Ireland of Buckhannon and Ryder Ireland of Buckhannon; two great-great grandchildren, Eli and Aili Bosley both of Buckhannon and sister-in-law, Betty Tenney of French Creek.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, David Eugene Tenney; one great-grandson, Kash Riffle; three siblings, Ralph Hoover, Lorena Shrout and Albert Hoover and one cousin, Retha Hoover.

Mrs. Tenney was a Baptist by faith. She was proud to become a nurse’s assistant and loved serving as a caregiver. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In honoring Mrs. Tenney’s wishes, she will be cremated. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
