Celebrate Slabtown Campground’s opening at Cass Scenic Railroad State Park on Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The year-round campground features 100 sites, equestrian options, bathhouses, laundry facilities and a camp store.

The Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur unveiled a new baler at the city transfer station during a ribbon cutting Tuesday. The recycling effort aims to keep soft plastics out of landfills and earn inclusive playground equipment in return.

The Fairmont State Foundation raised $4.6 million in fiscal 2026, surpassing its goal and increasing fundraising 84% year over year. It also awarded $1.3 million in scholarships and raised a record $880,152 through its Day of Giving.
