Off The Rails Nails will hold a ribbon cutting for its grand opening at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 7, at 310 3rd Avenue in Hinton. The community is invited.
Customers can get manicures, pedicures, facials and waxing, as well as massages from Rest Assured Massage by Kelly Cales, according to a release from West Virginia Hive, an entrepreneurial program of the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority.
Owner Martha Braswell, a veteran, said she and her husband bought the historic Tomkies & Son Building in January 2026 to restore it. Now called The Braswell House, the building is part of her plans to help revitalize downtown Hinton.
“Inspired by conversations with local residents while working at the city gym, I envisioned bringing a special beauty and self-care experience to Hinton and the surrounding communities,” Braswell said in the release.
Braswell said the salon takes inspiration from the 1920s and Hinton’s railroad history. She is working with West Virginia Hive Regional Business Advisor Matt Nichols, who said the program is providing expertise and technical assistance for her business.
