Hazel Marie Fitzgerald Townsend

Hazel Marie Fitzgerald Townsend, 81, went home to her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 13, 2023.

Hazel was born in Goshen, WV, on May 10, 1942, a daughter of the late Willie and Savannah Sines Fitzgerald. In addition to her parents, Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Bart Townsend; and two sisters: Maxine Long and Deloris Riffle.

She is survived by her son, John Michael Fitzgerald and wife, Brooke, as well as her beloved grandchildren: Ryan and Kieryn Fitzgerald. Also surviving are two step-daughters: Linda Wilson and Carolyn Hefner; sister, Bonnie Strader; brother, James Burton Fitzgerald; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Hazel was Nazarene by faith.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at Clutter Funeral & Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. on Sunday, November 19, 2023. Funeral Services will begin at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the Clutter Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rick Stillwell officiating. Interment will follow at Upshur County Memorial Park in Tennerton.
