Harold Eugene Reed

Harold Eugene Reed, 91, of Norvell Drive, Buckhannon, died Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at his home under the care of his loving family and WVU Hospice. 

He was born on June 13, 1929, at Tenmile, a son of the late Henry and Francis Koon Reed. On March 15, 1953, he was united in marriage to Leona Pearl Riffle Reed, who preceded him in death on April 9, 2020, after 67 years of marriage. 

In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by one son Richard Reed; two sisters: Jean Ward and Mildred Blagg; and six brothers:  Junior, Donald, Denvil, Larry, Bob, and Bill Reed. 

He is survived by one daughter Linda F. Reed and spouse Pat Nilo; one son Kevin Reed and spouse Barbara Reed; four granddaughters; eleven great grandchildren; three brothers: Chuck, Jerry, and Tom Reed; and former daughter-in-law Cindy Nicholson Reed Sanders. 

Harold was retired from the U.S. Air Force, where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant. After his service to our country, he was employed by Corhart, from where he later retired.  He loved being outdoors where he enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, gardening, and taking care of his lawn.  He was a faithful servant at the Christian Fellowship Church.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 11, 2020, from 5-8 p.m., at the Christian Fellowship Church.  The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 11 a.m. at the Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating. Interment will follow in the Upshur County Memorial Park, where the Upshur County Honor Guard will conduct military rites.
