Hank Ellis Insurance wins first-quarter title in men’s golf league

TENNERTON – Hank Ellis Insurance overtook Baker Tilly for the first-quarter title in the Buckhannon Country Club Bob Cupp Memorial Golf League.

Residing in second place last week, Hank Ellis Insurance downed Lisa Cain Edward Jones by an 18-16 score to take the top spot and secure the first-quarter championship.

Baker Tilly fell all the way from first to sixth place after a tough 23 ½-9 ½ setback to Feola’s Flowers, who finished in third place in the first-quarter standings.

Sam’s Pizza, moved up from fourth place to second place after a 17-16 ½ victory over First Community Bank.

In the other two matches of the week, High Point Construction downed UniFirst Corporation by a 16 ½-16 score and Custom Cabinets bested Highland Landscaping by a 20-12 score.

Steve Jeran of Hank Ellis Insurance, Kenny Tenney of Sam’s Pizza and Evan Coffman of First Community Bank all took home Low Actual honors with 38s while Roger Abel of Custom Cabinets won Low Net honors with a 31.
