KERENS – Dark skies did not deter the passionate drivers and racing fans who call Elkins Raceway home every Saturday night. Engines continued to roar, concession stands were still busy and skies were clear when the first green flag fell.

As the regular racing season is well underway at Elkins Raceway, races are heating up and competition continues to be fierce. As the green flag fell, the upcoming checkered flag was all that mattered then.

Saturday’s feature race winners were as follows:

  • Younger Mini Wedges – Adley Green
  • Older Mini Wedges – Brad Currence
  • Super Lates – Shane Hitt
  • Crates – Garret Paugh
  • Modifieds – Mitch Thomas
  • Street Stock – Dustin Atkinson
  • Hot Mods – Roger Hull

Gather the kiddos and come on out to Elkins Raceway this Saturday, June 18 for another evening of Thunder in the Mountains for regular racing and Kids Candy Crush. During intermission, children of all ages will be invited to the front stretch of the track to gather candy from the track as fast as they can. Speed, kindness and fun are encouraged during this year’s Kids Candy Rush segment.

Mark your calendars for June 25, the Elkins Raceway Wall of Legends Ceremony and Skidmore Memorial race. A whopping $3,000 will be awarded to the super late model winner alongside an increased payout for all other classes. Fans are encouraged to bring their cameras as fireworks will illuminate the sky during this event. (However, the track schedule is subject to change).

Below is the full list of race results and a handful of photos from the event on June 11. See our full photo gallery with almost 200 high-resolution photos from Saturday’s races here.
