Governor’s Inn wins ‘best lights’ award on first weekend

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — A Governor’s Inn on East Main Street received the award for best holiday lights and decor during week one of the city’s Winter Wonderland Wagon Rides.

Who will win the second round?

Join us the city this Saturday from 5 – 9 p.m. at Jawbone Park to take a ride around town and tell them who you think should win. The rides last about 20 minutes and run continuously with two wagons in rotation. You do not need a reservation: just show up and hop on board.

If you are able, bring a donation of $3-5 (or a canned good) per rider. All proceeds will go to the Zach Post Memorial Food Drive benefiting the Upshur County Parish House and Buckhannon Salvation Army.

This week’s route:

From Jawbone Park, go north on Spring, west on Main, north on Locust, east on Huffman Ln, north on Kanawha, around Willard Way, south on Spring, east on Main, south on Florida, west on Lincoln, south on Smithfield, west on College, south on Ritchie, south on Camden, north on Marion, continue north on Kanawha, east on Madison, north on Florida, and return to Jawbone Park.
