CHARLESTON – Gov. Jim Justice has issued a proclamation ordering that all State flags on all State-owned facilities throughout West Virginia, along with the United States flag, be displayed at half-staff from dawn until noon on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27, 2019.

Gov. Justice also requests that on Memorial Day, all citizens of West Virginia display the United States and State of West Virginia flags at their homes at half-staff from dawn until noon, unite in prayer for permanent peace beginning at 11 a.m., and observe the National Moment of Remembrance beginning at 3 p.m.

”The memory of all men and women who paid the ultimate price defending the United States is cherished, and they are solemnly remembered on Memorial Day for the sacrifices they endured to establish and maintain this great nation and its freedoms and liberties. May our remembrance provide solace to their loved ones,” Gov. Justice said.
