Golf ‘Cats place fourth at Bud Ewell Fall Classic

ERIE, Pa.— The West Virginia Wesleyan men’s golf team competed in one round of the Bud Elwell Fall Classic on Sunday (Sept. 18) at Whispering Woods Golf Course in Erie, Pa. Monday’s round was canceled due to rain.

The Bobcats finished fourth overall with a score of 305. Gannon, the host institution, won the event with a 285. Ohio Dominican placed second at 286 and Fairmont State claimed third place with a total of 303.

Individually, Davis Haynes finished in a tie for fourth place and shot even par in his single round of play. Freshman Francisco Taboada was right behind Haynes and shot a 73. Alexis Abalos signed his scorecard with a 78. Rounding out the scoring for WVWC was Cole Price (82) and Rigel Wilson (90).

The Bobcats return to the course on Monday (Sept. 26) for the West Liberty Invite held in Steubenville, Ohio.
