The first Graduate Hooding Ceremony, held on December 8, marked a significant milestone in the university’s commitment to academic excellence and the advancement of education.  Graduates were also recognized during the Fall Commencement Ceremony on December 9.

Amidst a backdrop of joy and accomplishment, three students proudly received their Master of Arts in Education degrees, representing the pioneering class of graduate students who have successfully completed their graduate programs at Glenville State University. Saturday’s commencement ceremony served as a testament to the dedication and hard work exhibited by these graduates throughout their academic journey. The students were:

  • Taylor McClain Scott – Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction

Glenville State University President, Mark A. Manchin, expressed immense pride in the achievements of the graduates, stating, “Today, we celebrate not only the academic accomplishments of the first graduate class but also the resilience and determination that have brought them to this moment. These graduates have set a precedent for excellence, and we look forward to witnessing the impact they will undoubtedly make in their respective fields.”

Glenville State University remains dedicated to fostering a culture of innovation, research, and academic excellence. The introduction of graduate programs aligns with the university’s mission to prepare students for leadership roles in their chosen fields and contribute meaningfully to society.

The inaugural class of graduate programs in education began in fall 2022 with 22 students.  The events of the past weekend celebrated the first graduates in the Master of Arts in Education programs.
