Glenville State University Department of Fine Arts to hold fireworks fundraiser

The TNT Fireworks stand in Glenville (located at Foodland Plaza) is stocked and ready to supply residents with fireworks for their Independence Day celebrations. GLENVILLE, W.Va. – The Glenville State University Department of Fine Arts will again be operating the TNT Fireworks stand at Foodland Plaza in Glenville this year as a fundraiser.

The stand is scheduled to open Friday, June 24 and will operate through Tuesday, July 5. Faculty and students from the department will staff the stand, and money from sales will go toward the Friends of Fine Arts fund.

“Friends of Fine Arts is a fund that we use to help pay for student enrichment activities,” explained Dr. Jason Barr, Chair of the Department of Fine Arts. “It helps us to bring in clinicians, artists, performing musicians, and the like for our students to attend and learn from.”

During selling seasons, TNT Fireworks offers the use of their stands or tents for fundraising purposes. This is the second year the GSU Department of Fine Arts has had the opportunity to operate the stand in Glenville during Independence Day sales.

“As always, the Department of Fine Arts thanks everyone for their support!” Barr added.

The TNT Fireworks stand in Glenville will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.

When celebrating with fireworks, remember to read all warning labels and follow directions on each device. Children should not handle, play with, or light fireworks. Adults should handle and light all fireworks to ensure their proper use. Additionally, please obey local and state laws regarding the sale and use of state-approved fireworks. Contact local fire and police officials regarding ordinances pertaining to the purchase and use of fireworks in your area.
