Glenville State University celebrates GSU Day at the West Virginia State Capitol

Glenville State University (GSU) hosted its annual GSU Day at the West Virginia State Capitol on February 18, 2025. GSU Students, faculty, and staff traveled to Charleston to with the goal to highlight GSU’s commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a brighter future for its students.

The event was attended by state legislators, local leaders, and members of the public, all of whom had the chance to interact with GSU students and learn more about the university’s programs. Those assembled from Glenville State also visited the House of Delegates and Senate Chambers for special recognitions. Citations were issued from both chambers marking the day.

“We are incredibly proud of the contributions Glenville State University makes to the state of West Virginia,” said Dr. Mark A. Manchin, President of Glenville State University. “GSU Day at the Capitol provides an opportunity to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to the state and engage with policymakers who are helping to shape a bright future for higher education in West Virginia.”

GSU Day at the Capitol is an annual event that continues to strengthen the university’s relationships with state government and underscore the importance of investing in higher education as a means to support West Virginia’s economic growth and development.
