Gleneva ‘Tomi’ Mae Zickefoose

Gleneva ‘Tomi’ Zickefoose, 90, of Waynesville, Ohio passed on at her home on Sunday, May 12, 2019, Mother’s Day. 

How rejoicing that she would have reunited with her Mother in Heaven on this day.  She was born on June 12, 1928, in Cassity, W.Va., a daughter of Orval and Mamie Chewning.

Tomi was married to Margel ‘Zick’ Zickefoose on Aug. 27, 1949. She is survived by her husband Margel Zickefoose; Daughter Linda Shepard and husband Dean of Tipp City, Ohio; Daughter Nancy Buckingham of Springboro, Ohio; Son Dennis Zickefoose and wife Terry of Springboro, Ohio; Grandchildren: Rodney Shepard, Kevin Shepard, Nicki Dravenstott and husband Wally, Michele Woodley and wife Dani, Jon Zickefoose and wife Shelia, Chris Zickefoose and wife Mandi; Great-Grandchildren: Eric Shepard and wife Abigail, Sydney, Logan and Summer Dravenstott; Nate Frank; Cash Zickefoose; Taylor Wright, Maggie and Payton Brown; Harlyn Zickefoose; Great-Great-Grandchildren: Eli, Adam, Maci, Ezra and Liam Shepard.

Tomi is also survived by: Brother James Chewning, Sister Shelia Hodges and several nieces, nephews, and sisters-in-law.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers, Orval Chewning and Robert Chewning and sisters, Betty Herron, Colleen Husslien and Arabelle Thomason.

Tomi was a loving and devoted wife to Zick for almost 70 years. She was a caring and loving Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Great-Great Grandmother who was deeply loved and will be missed by all.

Tomi enjoyed spending time with her family and found great pleasure in gardening, canning and quilting.

Friends will be received Sunday, May 19, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Holly Hoover officiating. Burial will follow at the Mount Olive Cemetery in Queens, W.Va.
