Garth W.T. “Canuck” Meadley

Garth W.T. “Canuck” Meadley, 83, of Buckhannon passed away on Monday, November 1, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Nursing Care Facility in Buckhannon. 

He was born in Vancouver, Canada, on January 12, 1938, a son of the late William and Ellen Jane Hammon Meadley.

On December 2, 2002, Garth married Orpha Leona Johnson and spent 17 years loving her until she passed on June 22, 2020.

Garth is survived by one great-nephew, Jacob Bucher and one great-niece, Andrea Bucher both of Morgantown; and his two close friends: Blaine Chewning and Rob Gifford.

Garth began his career in Vancouver for the Barzedell Logging Company. He moved to Buckhannon to work at the Trus Joist Macmillan plant in research and development and retired from Weyerhaeuser after 39 years of employment. Garth was a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks #1736 and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #598 both in Buckhannon. His favorite pastime was fishing.

Garth’s request for cremation has been honored.
