Lewis County handed Buckhannon-Upshur High School a 42-14 loss under the Friday night lights, claiming ownership of ‘The Pick’ — a coalminer’s pick that serves as a trophy for the winner of the annual rivalry.

With the win, the Minutemen improved to 5-1 on the season, while the Bucs dropped to 1-5 heading into a matchup with University this week. That game is set for 7 p.m. Friday in Buckhannon.

My Buckhannon photographer Brian Bergstrom has posted new high resolution photos from the game here — including pics of the 2019 homecoming court. Note that gallery access requires a premium membership.
