Freeman Dickson Carpenter

Freeman Dickson Carpenter, 61, of Buckhannon passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 in the comfort of his own home.

Freeman was born in Alton on Aug. 21, 1957 a son of the late Hoy and Kathleen M. Zickefoose Carpenter.

On July 2, 1984 Freeman married the love of his life, Angelina Sandy Carpenter, who will greatly miss him after 35 years of marriage.

Freeman’s great sense of humor will always be remembered by his wife; two daughters: Rebecca Carpenter and fiancé, Fred Cade, of Belington and Rindi Chidester and husband, Stanley, Buckhannon; five grandchildren: Brayton and Cheyanna Carpenter, Destiny Chidester and Daniel and Elizabeth Alderman; and eight siblings.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by four siblings: Arden, Kelsel, John and Rosleen Carpenter.

For fifteen years, Freeman worked as a self-employed contractor/carpenter, and had previously been employed with Ricottilli Fencing for around 18 years. He was a Methodist by faith and loved berry and ramp picking, playing the guitar, and watching westerns. His most treasured moments were those spent with his family. Freeman was a loving husband, father and grandfather. 

Friends and family will gather at Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral & Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon from 11 a.m. to noon on Friday, March 15, 2019. Funeral Services will be held at noon on Friday in the Tomblyn-Clutter Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tim Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olive Church Cemetery in Hemlock.
