Free Stop the Bleed course to be offered to the public on May 23

In support of May being Stop the Bleed month, and May 23 being Stop the Bleed Day in the U.S., West Virginia Public Service Training, Buckhannon Fire Department and St. Joseph’s Hospital Trauma Program are collaborating to offer a Stop the Bleed course for anyone interested on May 23 starting at 3 p.m.

This course will be open to anyone and there is no charge to attend. The course location will be at the Buckhannon Public Safety Complex classroom, located at 22 South Florida Street. More information about Stop the Bleed can be found at:  https://www.bleedingcontrol.org

In summary, Stop the Bleed is a course designed to teach the lay person the critical few skills necessary to provide immediate treatment for life threatening bleeding.  Death from severe bleeding is often times preventable and we want to teach people how to do that for their benefit, their families benefit and the communities benefit.
