Fred Eberle Technical Center students bring home 22 top honors from SkillsUSA state conference

Twenty-two Fred Eberle Technical Center students earned top-three finishes at the 2025-2026 WV SkillsUSA State Conference, with 11 taking gold and 11 earning silver out of 37 FETC competitors at the state level.

The first-place winners will advance to the national conference this summer.

FETC’s gold medalists were:

  • Post-Secondary Welding Fabrication: DJ Louk, Tim Henline and Matt Mahoney
  • Post-Secondary Welding: Grayson Williams
  • Secondary Medical Assisting: Electa Woofter
  • Post-Secondary HVAC: Shaun McNemar
  • Post-Secondary Diesel Equipment Technology: Tyler Arbogast
  • Post-Secondary Collision Repair Technology: Michael McCourt
  • Secondary Carpentry: Gavin Moody
  • Post-Secondary Automotive Service Technology: Noah Dawson
  • Secondary Automotive Maintenance and Light Repair: Eric McGill

Silver medalists included:

  • Secondary Welding Fabrication: Carlton Jones, Jackson Queen and Trenten Riffle
  • Secondary Telecommunications Cabling: Jace Bennett
  • Post-Secondary Internetworking: Braiden McKisic
  • Secondary Industrial Motor Control: Janson Garton
  • Post-Secondary Electrical Construction Wiring: Tanner Smith
  • Secondary Diesel Equipment Technology: Kaleb Overbey
  • Post-Secondary Customer Service: Kenneth Snodgrass
  • Secondary Automotive Service Technology: Charlie Supers
  • Secondary HVAC: Dakota Tharp

Fifteen additional FETC students competed at the state level: Emmah Carter, Gracie Freeman, Bryson Halterman, Kyzer Hernandez, Avery Holcomb, Catie Hoover, Seneca Howell, Baylee Hurst, Karson Karickhoff, Norah Malone, Hunter Potts, Makenna Powers, Hannah Riddle, Gregory Stipling and Kayla Tenney.
