Fred Brooks Garden Club celebrates Arbor Day

It was a beautiful day for The Fred Brooks Garden Club Arbor Day program on Friday, April 29.

A big thank you to our city streets department employees Logan Edwards, Zack Hull, Andrew Loudin & Dixie Green for all their help with planting. We were honored to have Mayor Robbie Skinner & City Recorder Randy Sanders with us, along with several club members and four nieces of long-time Fred Brooks Garden Club member Juanita Post.

Ann Elmore, Linda Fitzgerald, Samanna Peck and Dorothy Rice attended our Arbor Day program representing the Post family to commemorate the planting of the pink dogwood in honor of Juanita Post.

We also planted a redbud tree for long-time member Sue Darnall. Thanks to Amy Hall & Donna Carpenter for choosing such nice trees and to Jason Jett for transporting them.
