Floy Belle “Sis” Burr, 86, of Buckhannon, died Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at the J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
She was born on June 14, 1934, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late John Roosevelt and Zeta Viola Loudin Hurst. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her former husband Howard Burr; three brothers: Robert D., Billy D., and John O. Hurst; one sister Emma Jean Elmer; and son-in-law Gary Kimble.
She is survived by two sons: Danny Burr and wife Anna of Buckhannon and Thomas Burr and wife Pam of French Creek; two daughters: Teddi and husband Jim Seidl of Philippi and Sherry Kimble of Buckhannon; and a multitude of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Sis was a caregiver for most of her life and especially enjoyed caring for the elderly. She was an avid Bingo and Dominoes player, as well as a champion horseshoe-thrower. She enjoyed being with family, playing cornhole and volleyball, and shopping at yard sales.
The body will be cremated and a memorial service will be held on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 1 p.m., at the Laurel Fork Cemetery.
