Fairmont State continues to provide New Student Orientation

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Fairmont State University has identified new ways to provide a common rite of passage and an essential steppingstone for incoming freshmen–New Student Orientation. For the safety of everyone involved an online format is being used to ensure incoming students are still able to experience all parts of Orientation from the safety of their home.

Students who have applied and have been accepted, can sign up for the new digital orientation by visiting www.fairmontstate.edu/orientation. During this session and in the days that follow, students will meet with an academic advisor to schedule and register for classes, activate their student account, and more.

“Once our new students view our online New Student Orientation presentation, which they receive after registering, they will be contacted by an advisor to set up a personalized, digital appointment to schedule classes,” Loren Bane, manager of Student Success, said.

Throughout the summer students will receive information on how they can prepare to attend Fairmont State University in the fall. From an exclusive virtual tour of campus to living on campus, incoming students will be prepared for the transition to college.

“We cannot wait to meet the newest members of the Falcon Family in person! In the interim, students with questions or concerns are encouraged to contact the Office of Student Success,” Bane said. “We are working as diligently as possible to aid our newest Falcons during this new, exciting time in their lives.”

Students who have questions or concerns can contact the Office of Student Success at success@fairmontstate.edu

Orientation information can be found by visiting www.fairmontstate.edu/orientation.
