The Great Jawbone Howl-o-ween fills Jawbone Park in downtown Buckhannon from noon to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31, a free, family-friendly and pet-friendly Halloween celebration before trick-or-treating begins. Admission to the park grounds is free, and visitors are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes and bring friends along.
Majestic Mountains Studio is organizing the event. Planned activities include:
- About two dozen vendors, many of them Festival Friday vendors whose season was cut short
- Fire truck tours for kids from the fire department
- A giant Halloween inflatable from Cartoon Headquarters, until 4 p.m.
- Music and karaoke with The DJ Princess
- A costume contest in seven categories, with eight prize baskets donated by local businesses
- A raffle, with proceeds going toward next year’s event
- Face painting from Paint Misbehavin’, with balloon décor and a magic show as the grand finale
- Halloween mini photo sessions with Majestic Mountains Studio for $25
Trick-or-treat in the Buckhannon city limits runs from 6 to 7:30 p.m. that evening.
