Fairmont State University’s Frank and Jane Gabor Folklife Center hosts a free Spooky Stories Concert from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, October 16. The West Virginia Storytelling Guild pairs ghost stories with freely improvised music from Pittsburgh Sound Preserve, the first time the two groups have worked together.
Storytellers JoAnn Dadisman, Fran Kirk, Karen Vuranch, June Riffle and Judi Tarowsky are on the lineup. Composer Jay Rauch is joined by musicians Patrick Breiner, Eli Namay and Annick Odom. Refreshments will be served.
The concert is free and open to all ages. Parking is around the center on Squibb Wilson Boulevard on the Fairmont State campus, and an elevator serves the second floor. Details: 304-367-4403 or the Folklife Center’s website.
