WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Rotary Club of Buckhannon-Upshur are again offering affordable community blood screenings this fall. Screenings are by appointment only; walk-ins will not be accepted. Book online at RotaryBloodScreening.as.me.
The schedule: St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon on Oct. 10, 17, 24 and 31, and Community Care of Rock Cave on Nov. 7.
The basic blood profile costs $35. Optional add-on tests (available only with the basic profile): thyroid (TSH) $5, colon cancer screen $5, hemoglobin A1C $15, PSA prostate screening for men $20, hepatitis C antibody $20 and vitamin D $30.
Participants should fast for 12 hours before the test. Payment is by cash or personal check. Results are available through MyWVUChart or mailed home.
