Three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning military historian Rick Atkinson delivers the West Virginia Humanities Council’s annual Betsy K. McCreight Lecture in the Humanities at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at the Capitol Theater in Charleston.
Atkinson, a former Washington Post journalist featured in the PBS documentary series The American Revolution, is the author of the “Liberation Trilogy” on World War II and the first two books of a trilogy on the American Revolution, The British Are Coming and The Fate of the Day. A question-and-answer session and book signing follow the lecture, and Taylor Books will sell select Atkinson titles.
The lecture is free and open to the public. Doors open at 7 p.m., and no reservations are required.
