Rajiv Vinnakota, president of the Institute for Citizens & Scholars, opens the 2026-2027 series with a talk titled Higher Education’s Civic Responsibility. His organization works to strengthen civic life by preparing young people to be informed, engaged citizens and effective leaders, and he will discuss how institutions can foster civic engagement, dialogue across differences and a deeper commitment to democratic participation.
