Skyla Spencer Entertainment’s Mountaineer Trailblazers, an adult line dance performance group, will hold its first day camp in the Assembly Hall at the Upshur County 4-H Camp in Selbyville. The camp is open to current Trailblazers and to adults interested in joining the team.
Arrival is at 9 a.m., with activities starting between 9:30 and 9:45 a.m. The morning includes team and individual photos, promotional video shoots, outfit changes and filming of dances the group already performs, including Christmas attire and holiday choreography. After a one-hour lunch break, the afternoon is set aside for reviewing and perfecting current dances, learning new dances and working on timing and performance skills. Dances on the list include Tush Push, Shivers, Going Ham, Boots on the Ground and Flex, time permitting.
A full eight-hour day costs $55; a four-hour half day costs $30 and does not include the lunch hour. Payment was due by September 15, by check or online; no cash is accepted and there are no refunds or credits for leaving early. Participants should bring their own lunch, snacks and drinks — a refrigerator is available. Those who register receive a list of outfits to bring for the photo and video shoots.
