WVU Extension’s agriculture and natural resources program holds the Central WV Grazing School on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11 and 12, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day at the Elk Conservation District, 738 Airport Road in Sutton.
The two-day school costs $25 per person and includes lunch plus take-home materials and supplies. Enrollment is limited to 20 participants, and pesticide credits are available.
Sessions mix classroom work with hands-on instruction on temporary fencing and watering equipment for grazing livestock, forage budgeting, building a grazing plan, the cost of hay production, soil testing and fertility, stocking rates and nutrient management.
