The Band of Brothers brings back its “Buck’s” barbecue chicken dinner for a seventh year on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. All proceeds go to the group’s Help Us Help Kids’ Christmas Campaign, which this year aims to brighten Christmas for neighbors affected by the July 21 flooding.
Each dinner is a half chicken with a baked potato and baked beans, prepared by Buck Edwards, who is returning to town to cook. Dinners cost $15.
Pickup is in the Chapel Hill parking lot on Route 20, across from Poling-St. Clair. If a funeral is scheduled that day, the group will set up in the lower lot off Hart Street.
Preorders are encouraged and are filled first come, first served. To preorder, reply to organizer Al Tucker’s Facebook post, text 304-704-4292 or email alanandliva@aol.com. Checks should be made out to “Band of Brothers”; Venmo payments go to “BU BandofBrothers.” Donations are also welcome.
