World-class professional and master LEGO builders bring their creations to The Bridge Sports Complex in Bridgeport for a two-day show, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.
Among the featured builders is Lia Chan of Baton Rouge, whose work centers on NASA builds — an Artemis II shuttle, a large-scale model of the International Space Station and other historic shuttles, most of them signed by a member of that mission’s astronaut team. Chan appeared at organizers’ recent BBQ Bash with only part of her collection because of space limits, and will show the whole thing in September. She began building at age 5, became seriously involved in 2010 after joining a LEGO group in Dallas, and has built professionally for more than six years; her creations currently tour the country with Brick Universe expos. Organizers say she enjoys talking with the public, especially young people, about the space program and the details of her custom builds.
