Eugene Williams, Jr.

Eugene Williams, Jr., age 75, of Philippi, WV, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at his home following a short, courageous battle with cancer.

He was born February 6, 1948, in Philippi, a son of the late Eugene Ferrol and Sadie Mae McMillen Williams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Brian Neil Williams.

On September 21, 1996, Eugene married Linda Sue Nethken Williams who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Ricky Lee and wife DeLeana of Buckhannon, Scott Allen and wife Rachel of Clarksburg, WV and David Lynn of Norton, WV; one step son, Doug Alderman and wife Shelby of Buckhannon; one step daughter, Melissa Kane and husband John Michael of Green Bank, WV; six grandchildren, Kirsten, Brock, Brody, A.J., Ethan and Logan; three step grandchildren, JD, Ben and Michael; two great-grandchildren, Braxton and Asher; one brother, Rusty Williams and wife Debbie; one sister, Leslie Shaw and husband Jimmy.

Gene was a member of the Faith Way Baptist Church and a retired Sales Clerk of 30 years, mostly of Ken’s True Value in Philippi.

Friends will be received Wednesday, October 11, 2023, from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 1 PM Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor David Canny and Rev. Dennis Estes officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hebron Cemetery in Philippi, WV.
