Etta Darleen Gillum

Etta Darleen Gillum, 91, of Buckhannon, died on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Holbrook Nursing Home. 

She was born July 30, 1927, in Upshur County, a daughter of the late Troy and Pearl Newcome Cunningham.  In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by two brothers:  Bradford and Earl Cunningham. 

She was united in marriage on July 30, 1948 to Dorse E. Gillum, Sr., who survives. 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son Dorse and wife Deanna Gillum of Buckhannon; one daughter Debra and husband Joe Carrico of Buckhannon; five grandchildren: Andrea, Dorian, and Tasha Carrico, Leslea Gillum and Scott and wife Jennifer Gillum; two great grandchildren: Stuart and Julia Gillum; one sister Geraldine Linger of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews. 

Mrs. Gillum loved spending time with her family, working in her garden, crocheting, and flowers. She loved to sing and play the guitar. She was a member of the Hampton United Methodist Church. 

Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Friday, May 3, 2019, from 5-7 p.m.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 11 a.m. at the funeral chapel.  Interment will follow in the Hampton Cemetery.
