Emma Louise “Sis” Zickefoose

Emma Louise “Sis” Zickefoose, 62, of Buckhannon, W.Va., died Thursday, July 9, 2020 at her son’s home in Buckhannon.

She was born August 28, 1957, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Leonard and Teresa Mae Hartley Herron. O

n April 25, 1975 she married Ralph Earl Zickefoose who preceded her in death on April 10, 2016.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Brier Earl Davis; one brother, Boyd Herron; and one sister, Lillian Wilke.

She is survived by two sons, Ralph “Hip” Zickefoose, Jr., and wife Shelia and Bobby Zickefoose all of Buckhannon; four daughters, Neva Bennett and husband Robert of Junior, W.Va., Lillian Nicole Duke and husband William of French Creek, W.Va., Pamela Zickefoose and fiancé Luke Jenkins and Tracy Davis and husband Chris all of Buckhannon; ten grandchildren, Brian “Bear” Hoover, Brett Hoover and girlfriend Whitney Reed, Trever Davis, Hayden Zickefoose, Johnathon Duke, Shyla Duke, Sahasha Zickefoose, Kayleigh Zickefoose, Madison Jenkins and Ariah Davis; five great-grandchildren, Mavrik Hoover, Lakelynn Reed, Brylee Reed, Boe Duke and Dalton; three brothers John Herron of Excelsior, W.Va. and Eugene Herron and Dwight Herron both of Buckhannon; four sisters, Brenda Demoss of French Creek, Mabel Kelley of Tallmansville, W.Va., Hilda Wagoner of Queens, W.Va. and Linda Kelley of Buckhannon and her beloved dog, Cinnamon.

Mrs. Zickefoose was a homemaker. She loved to bake, color do puzzles, and her family meant the world to her.

Friends will be received Friday, July 10, 2020 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wease L. Day officiating. Burial will follow in the Cutright Chapel Church Cemetery in Queens.

In following the Governor’s guidelines we will only be able to permit 25 people to enter the building at a time. *Also in following State Guidelines, it is recommended that you wear a mask inside the building.*  

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
