Ellen Lynn Johnson

Ellen Lynn Johnson, 76, of the Selbyville Road, died on Saturday, February 8, 2020, at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport.

She was born in Upshur County on May 9, 1943, a daughter of the late Henry Newton and Martha Jane Hanline Bennett.

She was united in marriage on July 21, 1995, to Raymond Johnson who survives.

In addition to her father and mother she was also preceded in death by one son-in-law Ralph Meeks and one sister Elizabeth Kae Tenney. 

She is survived by four daughters:  Susan Meeks of French Creek, Charlotte and husband Mark Lough of Buckhannon, Donna and husband Charles Cogar of Selbyville and Alene and husband Les Sines of Rock Cave; eight grandchildren:  Eric Lough, Benjamin and wife Becky Meeks, Samantha Meeks, April and husband Tim Cogar, Nikita and husband Matt Ware, Sara and husband Mitchell Collins, Joshua and wife Bre Sines and Tara Cogar; ten great grandsons and six great granddaughters; one sister Cynthia Barton of Doddridge County and several nieces and nephews; and her special baby dog Jazzie.

Mrs. Johnson enjoyed quilting and Indian beading. She loved nature and watching the wildlife in her yard. She had worked as a home health aide in Inchelium, Washington and also in Buckhannon. Ellen was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at Holly Grove. 

Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, February 11, 2020, from 10-11 a.m. the funeral hour with Pastor Jason Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery at Czar.
