Elizabeth Leona Haney

Elizabeth Leona Haney, 65, of Mill Creek, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 4, 2023.

She was born in Hickory, NC, on July 24, 1957 to the late Thelma Estes. Elizabeth was blessed with two surrogate mothers: Momma Heaton and Deloris Haney. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Phillip Smallwood; second husband, William “Billy” Haney; and one brother, Charles Wayne Tramel.

Forever cherishing their memories of Elizabeth’s nurturing nature are four children: TJ Massie and wife, Lena, of Roanoke, IN, Phillip Smallwood II and wife, Olivia Smallwood, of Clarksburg, Matthew Smallwood of Morgantown, and Lita Smallwood of Buckhannon; seven grandchildren: Dylan, Fintan and Declan Massie, and Adrian, Blake, Caylee, and Devin Nesbitt; two sisters-in-law: Velva Walton of Crawford and Nancy Jean Taylor and husband, Leonard, of Mill Springs, MO; nephew: Doug Moore and wife, Amy, of Buckhannon; two great-nephews: Conner and Noah Moore; and her beloved chihuahua mix, Peanut.

She was a Christian by Faith and graduated from Hickory High School. Elizabeth liked watching movies of all kinds. She had a heart of gold and was the best mom a kid could ask for, including Peanut who got chicken instead of dog food. Inside her heart was a home big enough for everyone.

Elizabeth’s request for Cremation has been honored. A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.

We, at Clutter Funeral and Cremation located at 21 Elnora Circle in Buckhannon, are honored and privileged to serve the family of Elizabeth Leona Haney. Online condolences may be expressed at www.ClutterFuneralHome.com.
