Edward Ray Gillum

Edward Ray Gillum, age 89, of Buckhannon passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at the United Hospital Center in Bridgeport. 

He was born in French Creek on October 24, 1932, a son of the late Dee and Edna Hyre Gillum.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Carol Gillum; three brothers:  Dorse, Leonard and Odell and one sister Vera Sayre.

He is survived by his wife Pearl Ruth Gillum; four sons:  Rick Gillum and Bonnie, Douglas Gillum and April, Max Gillum, Edward Gillum, Jr. and Ethel; one daughter Crystal Donaldson; one stepson Danny Eskew and one stepdaughter Deborah Howes; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one sister Helma Pringle and two brothers:  Doyle Gillum and Patty and Robert Gillum; several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Gillum enjoyed woodworking.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of the Bethlehem Community Church.

Friends will be received at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel on Friday, September 2, 2022, from 1-2:00 PM, the funeral hour with Pastor Will Kerns officiating.  Interment will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery.  The Upshur County Honor Guard will accord military honors at the graveside.
