Dorothy June Blake

Dorothy June Blake, 85, of Buckhannon, passed away on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, in the comfort of her home surrounded by loving family.

Dorothy was born in Marshall County on May 22, 1940, a daughter of the late Donald Edgar Harris and Laura Letha Blake Harris. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death her daughter, Pamela Dee Blake; one brother, Brooks Harris; and three sisters: Maxine Crow, Imogene Garrison, and Betty Cecil.

On May 10, 1958, Dorothy married the love of her life, Robert Mearl Blake. Together they built a life filled with love and happiness for 67 wonderful years and he will miss her dearly.

Forever cherishing their memories of Dorothy is her husband, Robert Blake; three children: Laura Jane Casebolt and husband, John, of KY, Kimberly Ann Bolton and husband, David, of Belington, and Stephen Lane Blake of Buckhannon; seven grandchildren: Kristopher, Shawnee, Daniel, Derek, Brandin, Briana, and Kelsey; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dessie Louden; and several nieces and nephews.

Dorothy was an employed dietician at the Holbrook Nursing Home, where she was cherished for her dedication and care. She had a passion for sewing, bowling, baking cobbler and pumpkin pies, and solving crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Most of all, Dorothy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. A devoted member of the Church of Christ in Clarksburg, she served as a past children’s class teacher and was involved in the CEOS Buckhannon Club. Her kindness and compassionate nature will forever be remembered by those she touched.

Dorothy’s request for Cremation has been honored at Pat Boyle Funeral Home’s On-Site Crematory. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service located at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew at 1 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, with Pastor Jay Stevens officiating.
