BUCKHANNON, W.Va. — Officials from the City of Buckhannon, the Upshur County Commission and the Upshur County Department of Homeland Security & Emergency Management, in coordination with the West Virginia Army National Guard, announced an updated timeline for flood-related operations on Saturday.
Upshur County residents are asked to place flood-damaged debris and household items at the curb no later than noon on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. This debris-collection effort is part of a countywide initiative to accelerate cleanup and support families affected by recent flooding.
Items should be staged at the edge of the right-of-way in a manner that does not block roadways, sidewalks or drainage paths. Guard units will work systematically across impacted neighborhoods.
The county, city and the West Virginia Army National Guard appreciate the community’s cooperation and patience as recovery efforts continue.
