Donald Eugene Linger, Jr., age 61, of French Creek, died on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at the home of his daughter, Rebecca Kittle. He was born on February 8, 1965, in Buckhannon, a son of the late Donald Eugene Linger, Sr. and Etta May Gould Linger, who survives.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, James Glen “Jimmy” Linger.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Shirley Burr, mother of his four children: Barbara Stairs and husband Justin of Florida, Diana (Linger) Lattea and husband William of Buckhannon, Melissa Talbott and husband Roger of Buckhannon, and Beth Wamsley and fiancé Joshua Pharis of Buckhannon.
Also surviving are his wife, Barbara Ann Linger, and their children: Rebecca Kittle and husband Darrel of French Creek, Donald Linger, III and wife Thelma of Buckhannon, Jennifer Linger of Buckhannon, Jessica Linger and boyfriend Tyler Huffman of French Creek, Hannah Jones and husband Ronald of Rock Cave, and Shyanna Linger of Buckhannon; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Linger and Christopher Linger and wife Hellen, all of Rock Cave; and one sister, Ethel and husband Edward Gillum, Jr. of French Creek.
Donald liked to draw and color. He loved spending time outdoors with a beer in hand. He had been an auto mechanic for over thirty years and was a former employee of High-Tech Auto in Buckhannon.
Donald’s request for cremation has been honored and there will be no services.
