DNR seeks comments on changes to fishing regulations

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The West Virginia Division of Natural Resources (DNR) is seeking public comments on a proposed amendment to state fishing regulations.

These regulations establish the open seasons and the size and creel limits with respect to the taking of fish and other aquatic species in West Virginia. As per approved changes by the Natural Resources Commission, the rule change extends the catch-and-release season for trout on the Bluestone River Catch and Release Area.

The rule, 58CSR60, is available here.

The rules have been filed with the Secretary of State’s office and will be open for review and written comment until 5 p.m. on May 9. They will be advertised in the State Register and are available for review at the DNR South Charleston and Elkins offices.

Written comments are accepted at DNRComments@wv.gov or may be mailed to WV Division of Natural Resources, Attn: Wendy Greene, 324 4th Avenue, Room 343, South Charleston, WV  25303.
