Dillard “Leroy” Tigner

Dillard “Leroy” Tigner, 83, of French Creek, went Home on Monday, November 2, 2020. He passed in the comfort of his home and surrounded by his loving family.

Leroy was born in Asheville, Ohio, on March 10, 1937, a son of the late Chester Maupin and Pearl Tigner. In addition to his parents, Leroy was preceded in death by on son, Scotty Tigner.

On December 10, 1992, Leroy married the love of his life, Robin Ray Huff Slater. Together they shared the last 27 wonderful years of marriage and she will miss him dearly.

Forever cherishing their memories of Leroy are his wife, Robin Tigner, of French Creek; two sons: Thomas Tigner of Frederick, Md., and Charles “Chuck” Tigner of South Carolina; two step-children: Allen Slater and wife, Cindy, of New Windsor, Md., and Hannah Slater and fiancé, David Brightful, of French Creek; several grandchildren; two step grandchildren who he considered his own: Dillon and Dalton Slater; one step-great-grandchild, Paige Slater; two sisters; and several nieces and nephew.

Leroy graduated from High School in Asheville, Ohio. He spent 17 years employed with Lowes in Frederick, Md., and later retired from Wal-Mart in Charles Town, W.Va. to stay home with his grandson, Dillon. Leroy loved spending time outdoors whether he was fishing, hunting, or riding his four-wheeler. Another hobby that Leroy was exceptional at was carpentry. He loved building anything and everything.

Leroy’s request for cremation has been honored. A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
