DHS Foundation announces scholarship deadlines

Elkins, W.Va. — The Davis Health System (DHS) Foundation is accepting applications through March 31, 2021 for up to five scholarships which will be awarded to 2020 graduating high school seniors.

  • The DHS Foundation and Davis Medical Center (DMC) Medical Staff Scholarships are tailored to students continuing their studies in a healthcare related field.
  • The DMC Volunteer Services and Administration Scholarships recognize students who have volunteered hours to a health related program.

These scholarships are open to graduating high school students or those enrolled in a post-secondary, healthcare related education program from Randolph, Barbour, Tucker, Pocahontas, Upshur and Webster counties.  Students will be evaluated on ACT/SAT scores, extracurricular and community participation, a written essay, and their acceptance into a two or four-year college program in a healthcare-related field.  The award for each of these is $1,000 per student.

  • The Linda Davis Memorial Scholarship is available to a Randolph County student with experience in the sport of cheerleading. The recipient will receive a $500 scholarship.

“Davis Health System is happy to invest in the continued education of tomorrow’s healthcare professionals,” said DHS Foundation Executive Director Mike Bell.  “These important contributions are possible through the support of our donors and families who recognize the impact of the work we do and the programs, like scholarships, we provide.”

Applications and guidelines for all scholarships are available on the DHS Foundation website at www.dhsfoundation.com.  Those interested can also call the Foundation office at 304.630.3043.
