Department of Arts, Culture and History announces new juried art exhibit from inspired series

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History will open a new exhibition at the Culture Center, State Capitol Complex, in Charleston on Sunday, July 28, 2024, at 2 p.m. with a reception and awards ceremony.

This exhibit, titled West Virginia Historic Buildings and Structures, is the second installation of Inspired: A West Virginia Series of Juried Exhibitions, featuring four different West Virginia themes. Twenty-one West Virginia artists, representing twelve counties, were selected for the West Virginia Historic Buildings and Structures show, which features 33 pieces, including paintings, drawings, photography, mixed media and prints. The exhibit will remain on display in the West Virginia State Museum’s Commissioner’s Gallery at the Culture Center until mid-December 2024.

The exhibit opening reception and awards ceremony is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be provided.
