Delta Gathalea Sparks Jones

Delta Gathalea Sparks Jones, 83, of Rock Cave, died Monday, March 2, 2020, at her home. 

She was born on December 27, 1936, in Tioga, W.Va., a daughter of the late William and Bernice Brown Sparks. 

On June 22, 1957, she was united in marriage to Edmiston “Breck” Jones, who survives. 

Also surviving are one son Aubrey Jones and fiancée Stephanie Young of Cowen, W.Va.; two daughters:  Phala Johnston of Rock Cave and Tanya and husband Jamie Westfall of Sidney, Ohio; eight grandchildren:  Kevin Jones, Jillian and husband Shane Spencer, Jeremy Johnston and fiancée Kailyn Roby, Skyler Westfall, Dawson Westfall, Ava Westfall, Jerrod Young, and Jade Young; three great grandchildren:  Kallie, Audrey, and Brenley; one sister Wanda Madelone Sparks; and special companion, her dog Shadow. 

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by one daughter-in-law Sandra “Tam” Jones and several siblings. 

Mrs. Jones was a member of the Rock Cave Homemakers and loved to craft and crochet.  She enjoyed going to yard sales and auctions and dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

At the request of the deceased, the body will be cremated.  A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020, at 2 p.m., at the Heavner & Cutright Funeral Chapel, with Pastor David Jessie officiating.  Interment will follow in the Rock Cave Cemetery.
