Buckhannon-Upshur freshman Braylea Squires and junior Zack Simmons are this week’s Hank Ellis All-Stars after standout performances on the diamond, track and lacrosse field. Squires powered the Lady Bucs in regional play, while Simmons helped deliver a Division II lacrosse title and punched a ticket to states in track.

Charles Rodney “Rod” Godwin, a beloved Buckhannon pharmacist, dedicated family man, avid outdoorsman, and longtime community servant known for his favorite chairs and warm hospitality, died peacefully at home November 14, 2025, aged 77.
