Debrah Lynn Weese

Debrah Lynn Weese, age 68, of Buckhannon, WV died Monday, August 12, 2024, at Maplewood Healthcare Center in Bridgeport, WV. She was born May 23, 1956, in Buckhannon, a daughter of the late Burl D. and Alice Virginia Phillips Jones. On June 17, 1978, she married David Weese of Buckhannon, who survives.

Also surviving are one son, Brandon Weese and girlfriend Adrienne Tucker and family of Buckhannon; one daughter, Jessica Reed and husband Billy of Lost Creek, WV; two granddaughters, Gabriella Weese of Buckhannon and Aubry Reed of Lost Creek; one grandson, Brody Reed of Lost Creek; lifelong friend, Alice Maxwell of Shinnston, WV; one sister, Sharon Sheets of Raleigh, NC; several nieces and nephews; one aunt, Catherine Phillips of Buckhannon; two brothers-in-law, Gene Plymale and Donald Weese and wife Dee Dee all of Buckhannon and sister-in-law Susan Currence of Buckhannon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents-in-law, Ralph and Laura Weese; two brothers-in-law, Big Mike Currence and Billy Weese and sister-in-law, Patty Plymale.

Mrs. Weese was a teacher and attended the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Buckhannon. She was a teacher of the year nominee numerous times and a devoted Christian. Debbie helped run Chapel Hill’s Wednesday night dinner and a flower program for those who were homebound. She absolutely loved her community, was an avid sports fan and made everyone who was part of her life feel like they were her family – truly a mom to everyone.

Debbie touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her. Friends will be received Thursday, August 15, 2024, from 4 PM to 8 PM at the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. A funeral service will be held Friday at 1 PM at the church with Pastor Paul Rebelo officiating. Burial will follow in the Heavner Cemetery in Buckhannon.
