Deborah “Debbie” Jean Rushing


Deborah “Debbie” Jean Rushing, age 58, of Buckhannon, WV, died Friday, February 10, 2023, at WVU Medicine St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon.

She was born February 28, 1964, in Clarksburg, WV, a daughter of the late William Howard Arbogast, Jr and Rosemary Williston Childers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Rodney Rushing on June 23, 2014; one son, Harold “Bucky” Murphy; two brothers, Williams Howard Arbogast III and Johnnie Arbogast and three sisters, Sharon Williams, Karen Simons and Helen Arbogast.

Surviving are two daughters, Linda Merriman and husband Charles of French Creek, WV and Joyce Arbogast of Buckhannon; one son, Steven Arbogast of Buckhannon; numerous grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, Bobby Arbogast of Buckhannon; one sister, Robin Arbogast of Buckhannon and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Rushing was a housekeeper. In honoring her wishes, Debbie will be cremated.
